Sean Diddy Combs hunts Trump pardon: lawyer

Sean “Diddy” Combs sentenced for prostitution transport

A New York jury found 55‑year‑old Diddy guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution—each carrying a potential sentence of up to ten years in prison.

He was acquitted of racketeering and sex‑trafficking charges after a lengthy trial that alleged abusive conduct.

Seeking pardon from former President Donald Trump

Diddy’s legal team said the musician is “actively pursuing a pardon” from Trump, according to a lawyer interview on Tuesday.

Trump, however, has indicated that he is unlikely to grant the musician a pardon, as indicated in a recent interview with Newsmax:

  • “I was very friendly with him.” Trump said, describing a favorable personal relationship.
  • “I didn’t know him well, but when I ran for office, he was very hostile.” Trump added, stressing a historical political dispute.
  • “I would say so, yeah.” Trump answered when asked whether he was inclined to pardon Combs.

Sentencing scheduled for October 3

Combs is set to be formally sentenced on October 3. The sentence will reflect the outcome of the March conviction on prostitution transport and the acquittals of the other allegations.
