Social influencer and online fitness coach Carson Teagarden sat down and chatted with this journalist in New York City’s Central Park.
He shared his fitness and nutrition tips and he discussed the importance of mental health in the digital age.
Margaret Mead once said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” This quote applies to Carson Teagarden.

On being in New York, he exclaimed, “It’s amazing! The weather is great; I love New York City; it’s super motivating, and just awesome.”
The digital age
On being a fitness influencer in the digital age, Teagarden said, “The digital age is definitely the way to go.”
“I’ve talked to a lot of people in-person but with online and digital, you can reach more people worldwide, and give them more tips. So, the digital age is awesome,” he elaborated.
Proudest professional moments
As an online fitness coach, Teagarden’s proudest accomplishments is when his clients see results such as weight loss, building muscle and being inspired to work out every day. “Being able to inspire people is a proud result,” he said.
“So, when I am able to help people and get paid doing something that I love is one of the best things ever,” he added.
Daily motivations as an influnecer
Regarding his daily motivations as an influencer, Teagarden shared, “Two of my favorite things came together: being active and fitness and his love for making content. I fused these things together, and I started being consistent with that.”
Significance of mental health
“Mental health is definitely huge,” he admitted. “So many things we see on social media can harm our mental health. If you are waking up every single day and pushing yourself to be the best, and you are consistently seeing results, then you should be happy with where you are at.”
Walking as a form of exercise
Teagarden noted that he considers walking as a form of exercise. “Just getting up and walking every single day is the best thing you can do, especially to keep your body going, staying in shape and staying healthy so I love walking,” he said.
Teagarden shares his fitness and nutrition tips
“First and foremost, make sure you are getting enough protein in,” he said. “Protein makes you feel full and it helps you pack on muscle if you are working out. Overall, protein intake is very beneficial for you.”
“When you are eating, make sure you are eating your protein and a well-balanced diet,” he underscored.
“If you are short on time due to a busy schedule, do your home workouts but also walk. Getting up and moving helps me stay in shape each day, and it helps me feel good with my mental health,” he added.
AI on the future of the industry
Teagarden opened up about artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on the future of the fitness industry.
“AI is certainly interesting and we utilize it as a tool for good,” he said. “It can give you some helpful feedback, but ultimately, it comes down to knowing what is true and what is right.”
“You need to actually test it for yourself and your body, but AI can give you a lot of useful information, especially for some tips and tricks,” he added.
Superpower of choice
On his superpower of choice, he said with a sweet laugh, “To have superhuman strength.”
“That is why I love doing handstands, pushups and cool things like that with your body weight,” he said.
Best advice he has ever been given
On the best advice that he has ever been given, he shared, “Being a Christian, putting God first. If we are focusing on Him and His word, we can’t be depressed or going wrong.”
“It’s all about getting out of your comfort zone and pushing yourself… That helps you become better in the gym, in business, in your faith, and in life. It helps you become a better person,” he explained.
Success
Regarding his definition of the word success, he said, “Right now, success is achieving the goals that I set out for myself whether it’s in business or fitness or even my social media.”

For his followers and supporters, Teagarden said, “It’s actually crazy how many people are out there supporting me on this journey. Just the connections that I have through them mean a lot, and I am super grateful to them.”
“It’s amazing that they are always out there supporting, and they are helping me do what I love to do,” he said, effusively.
